  Chemical constituents from Polyporus ellissi


From the fruiting bodies of the mushroom Polyporus ellissi, six secondary metabolites were isolated and purified by repeated silica gel column chromatography.  Their structures were established by means of spectroscopic analysis (1H NMR, 13C NMR, MS, and IR) and chemical reaction as cerebroside B (1), cerebroside D (2), ergosterol endoperoxide (3), 9(11)-dehydroergosterol endoperoxide (4)mannito (5) and palmitate-1-glycerol (6)Among them compounds (1) and (2) were obtained from the genus Polyporus for the first time.

In the bioassay, compounds 1, 3 and 4 at concentrations of 100 mg/mL showed selectively inhibitory activity against phospholipase A2 (PLA2) secreted from Crotalus adamenteus venom, but inactive against PLA2 of bee venom (Apis mellifcra).
